Mr. Piloo Reporter; the timeless legend, you will never retire from everybody's heart Freny Daruwalla Thane Cricket is not only his life; it is his passion, he breathes cricket. Mr. Piloo Reporter is a fan, a player and a cricket umpire himself. While shedding tears of joy, he discusses umpiring his last match. The moment is remarkable and heartbreaking at the same time. He had to compulsorily retire at the age of 55. He has won numerous laurels, trophies, uncountable medals. He continues to win innumerable awards even today. He continues to fondly call Sachin Tendulkar 'bacchu'. On 25th January 2021, he was honored by the Cricketers Federation for his devotional service to Indian cricket. His hard work, perseverance and unconquerable determination helped him pave a career spanning over 28 years. What a proud moment! Piloo Reporter and his wife Homai Reporter are the proud parents of two daughters: Farzana and Khushnuma. Farzana is the elder daughter. He is also a happy nana (grandpa) of five grandchildren: Kaizin, Kainaz and Zubin (Farzana’s kids) and Maneck and Freny (Khushnuma’s kids). He is also a darling great-grandfather to Lyla (Kaizin’s daughter) and Chloe (Kainaz’s daughter). Currently, Mr. Reporter is 83 years old happily living in Thane. But age is just a number. He, even today doesn’t miss watching a single cricket match. He followed the 2021 T-20 world cup so carefully. He would remind me and make me aware of which team was playing on a particular day. Every morning, unfailingly he will sit down comfortably to read the newspaper. Guess what! He will immediately turn the pages hurriedly to the sports section to study the cricket news. What a love for the sport! What an admirable passion for cricket! I am so happy to be in conversation, the most celebrated and famous International cricket umpire who also is my grandpa; my cute nanu. I love you nanu!
