They say a family is like a tree with people spreading out all over like branches yet bound by roots. I am Anvi Fenn and It’s November 2021 in New Jersey. I happen to be only a distal twig in the large Fenn family tree dating back many generations. We at Evergreen Story are most excited to catch stories celebrating family. This story starts around 90 years ago when the Chempakasseril family from Kollad, Kerala was united via the marriage of my great grandmother Mariamma, the only sister to five brothers to CJ Fenn of the Fenn family of Thoppil, in Vazhoor, Kerala. Professor Titus Varkey and his first cousin Dr. Roy Elias, my grand uncles, who happen to be neighbors in Kollad got together to reminisce about the good old days and while doing so pay tribute to their ancestors for the roots that run deep and to the next generations for the branches that have spread wide. Let’s listen.
