She has to go somewhere by a bullock cart, tell her she’ll go immediately.” Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan is a celebrated playwright, theatre director and journalist (The Hindu), and has served as vocal accompanist to legendary Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi. Here, in a conversation with me, Mehar, in Chennai, Dr Gowri shares how her years as a journalist have informed her art.
