"Being a first-generation kid is like opening a book and not knowing what page you're on." Harleen, born and raised in Canada, never thought of exploring her South Asian roots until her grandmother's sudden passing. Curious about seeing the country of her parents' birth and learning her family's Partition story, Harleen decided to visit India for the first time at 27. The journey took her from New Delhi to Amritsar to Kerala, and gave her the page number she was searching for. Harleen is a writer, artist, and educator based in Montreal.
