As I sit in this beautiful black box to interview the creator and facilitator of this place called ‘The Box’, and my guest for next 3 episodes, Pradeep Vaiddya, I realize how much we have missed theatre in the lockdown period! I am sure most of you would agree with me that a good play, a good theater space has the ability to transfer us all into another world and make us forget everything else for a while! Though due to the pandemic, all the theatre spaces here are closed, as we say in Marathi, दुधाची तहान ताकावर, which means that if you don’t get milk, you satisfy your thirst with buttermilk! Similarly, here we have Pradeep Vaiddya, who has created sheer magic on stage, who has created beautiful theater spaces over the lockdown and he has been very vocal in advocating the reopening of theaters. So, let the curtain rise!
